She has extensive experience working with text-processing techniques and performing applied econometrics analysis. Dr. Agarwal’s PhD dissertation studied leverage, debt capacity, and cash flow volatility of offshoring firms, and her academic research also included studies in corporate culture, compensation contracts, and entrepreneurship.

During his tenure at Brattle, Dr. Aharonian has provided expert testimony on damages, valuation, irreparable harm, and market efficiency in various forums. He has also led teams providing economic analysis and settlement support in high-profile domestic and international disputes. These engagements have included general securities litigations, securities class actions, Delaware minority share appraisals, asset valuations (traditional businesses and tech/start-up ventures), derivatives valuations, risk management, debt capacity analyses, cost of capital estimations, tax disputes, regulatory cost models, and international asset appropriations.

In Canada, Dr. Aharonian has provided expert testimony on aggregate class damages and market efficiency, and has consulted on tax disputes for both taxpayers and government agencies. He has also supported testimony before provincial and federal regulators, including coauthoring a report for the Canadian Transportation Agency on cost of capital methodology.

Outside of his consulting work, Dr. Aharonian is regularly invited to speak on the evolving US securities litigation landscape. He also serves as an adjunct in the MBA program at Babson College, where he has taught courses on fixed income securities and financial derivatives.

Professor Allenby is the Helen C. Kurtz Chair in Marketing at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, where he is also a Professor of Marketing and Professor of Statistics.

His research focuses on the development and application of quantitative methods in marketing, which is used to improve product, pricing, promotion, and targeting strategies at leading firms.

Professor Allenby is the author of two leading graduate-level books: Bayesian Statistics and Marketing (Wiley, 2005) and Seven Summits of Marketing Research (2016). A prolific author, he has published over 100 articles that have appeared in leading journals in marketing, statistics, and economics. He is a past editor of Quantitative Marketing and Economics, and past associate editor of Marketing Science, Management Science, the Journal of Marketing Research, and the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics.

Professor Allenby is a fellow of the Informs Society for Marketing Science and the American Statistical Association. An active member of the American Marketing Association, he has served as Vice President of the Research Council and has chaired the Advanced Research Technique (ART) Forum, a national conference that brings together quantitative researchers from industry and academia. He has also served as Chair of the Section on Statistics in Marketing for the American Statistical Association.

Professor Andersen, a Professor of Finance at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, has expertise in asset pricing, empirical finance, and empirical market microstructure.

His work centers on modeling of volatility fluctuations in financial returns with applications to asset and derivatives pricing, portfolio selection, and the term structure of interest rates. His current work explores the use of large data sets of high-frequency data for volatility forecasting, portfolio choice, and risk management. In addition, he develops new estimation and inference tools for option pricing to assess risk exposures and risk pricing in the economy. He has consulted for trading firms, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, regional Federal Reserve Banks, foreign Central Banks, and universities.

Professor Andersen is a Faculty Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and an International Fellow of Center for Research in Econometric Analysis of Economic Time Series (CREATES) in Aarhus, Denmark. He is a fellow of Econometric Society and Society for Financial Econometrics. He has served as the editor-in-chief for the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Coeditor for the Journal of Financial Econometrics, and on the editorial boards of leading journals, including The Journal of Finance, The Review of Financial Studies, Econometric Theory, and Management Science.

Dr. Anderson is the inaugural Hurlston Presidential Chair and Professor of Management at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, where she teaches courses in management accounting and internal management controls.

Her degrees are in business economics and engineering and her research spans these fields, covering topics such as cost accounting, performance measurement, incentive contracting, supply chain contracting, and operations management. She uses empirical analysis of firm-level accounting and operational data to test economic theories about firm performance. She also has experience designing, administering, and analyzing survey data. Her published work has employed data from many industries, including automotive, electronics manufacture, office furniture manufacture, commercial airlines, consumer retail, coal extraction, transportation, and warehousing and distribution.

Dr. Anderson’s research has been funded by professional and national research organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Science Foundation, and the Australian Research Council. She regularly presents at conferences worldwide and has won the “Notable Contribution to the Accounting Literature” award and thrice won the “Notable Contribution to the Management Accounting Literature Award” from the American Accounting Association. She has been an editor of The Accounting Review and an associate editor at Management Science, and is on the editorial board of numerous journals. Her work appears in leading journals, including The Accounting Review; Management Science; and Contemporary Accounting Research, and she is an author on the popular management accounting textbook, Fundamentals of Cost Accounting, which is in its fifth edition.

Previously, Dr. Anderson was on faculty at the University of Michigan and Rice University. She has held visiting faculty appointments at Harvard Business School and the University of Melbourne. Earlier Dr. Anderson worked as an engineer for General Motors Corporation.

Dr. Arthur has more than 15 years of consulting and litigation experience in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petroleum industries.

He specializes in the analysis of antitrust and market power, ratemaking and regulatory policy, and commercial litigation. He has testified before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state public utility commissions, and federal courts.

With respect to antitrust and market power issues, Dr. Arthur has testified regarding the evaluation of market-based rates, as well as issues related to the determination of a competitive price, the evaluation of competitive alternatives, damages calculations, and the allocation of settlements for different consumer classes. He has also testified in several regulatory ratemaking proceedings regarding cost of service issues and reasonable allocations of costs, and assists clients regarding rate design issues on varying portions of a system and for differing customers.

In addition to providing testimony, Dr. Arthur frequently provides litigation support, including providing advice on regulatory matters, assistance with discovery, cross-examination regarding economic and technical industry issues, and preparation of briefs.

Prior to joining The Brattle Group in 1997, Dr. Arthur worked at Indiana University, where he performed research in the healthcare industry.

Dr. Auffhammer is an Associate Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics and the Director of the International Area Studies Academic Programs at the University of California, Berkeley.

His areas of expertise include environmental and resource economics, energy economics, and applied econometrics. Dr. Auffhammer currently serves as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research in the Energy and Environmental Economics group. He is also a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), as well as a Humboldt Foundation Fellow.

Dr. Auffhammer has authored numerous articles and reports on climate change and the environment, and his research has appeared in such publications as the American Economic Review, The Review of Economics and Statistics, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, The Economic Journal, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, The Energy Journal, and other well-known academic journals. He has been invited to present his research at conferences and seminars around the world and co-chaired the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE) annual conference in 2011.

Dr. Auffhammer has won awards for his excellence in both research and teaching. He is the recipient of the 2007 Cozzarelli Prize for outstanding paper by the National Academy of Sciences, and received the Berkeley Campus Distinguished Teaching Award and the Sarlo Distinguished Graduate Student Mentoring Award from UC Berkeley.
